Christine Glossop - candidate for Rhondda Rhondda & Ogmore

I have been a member of the Green Party for five years, and committed to campaigning for the environment for many years.

I worked for the NHS most of my life. I am a retired health visitor, and supported families with young children in the community.  I was also a health care researcher for several years at the (then) University of Glamorgan, School of Care Sciences at Pontypridd. I was involved with evaluating Sure Start programmes throughout Rhonda Cynon Taff county Borough.  I also led on a project aimed at reducing a high dropout rate of student nurses, which likewise involved travelling around the area to interview students, past and present.

Currently, as well as my involvement with the Green Party, I am active with local branches of environmental activist groups.  I am a volunteer with Hedgehog Helpline which rescues sick and injured hedgehogs.

I volunteer with a community health organisation in Uganda which trains and supports village health teams, and we visit annually.

I am passionate about protecting the environment, and putting people, nature, and the climate crisis at the heart of policy making.
