Lynden Mack – candidate for Vale of Glamorgan
Originally from Merthyr Tudful, born and bred, I have lived in Y Barri since 2015 after moving here from the London area.
I stood for the Green Party in last year’s local council elections in the Baruc ward. I am also active in a number of local campaigning and environmental organisations such as Friends of the Earth (who I first joined in c.1987), the Docks Incinerator Action Group (DIAG), Barry Action on Nature and Birch Grove Wood Conservation group. I am an avid Parkrunner and marshal at Barry Junior Parkrun on a weekly basis. I also champion the Welsh language and culture and support its use wherever and whenever possible.
I have been a househusband in recent years. Prior to this I worked in the third sector, specifically the field of deafness, managing communication services for deaf BSL users and hearing impaired people. I have also been a youth worker with young deaf people having once set up and run a youth club for such young people.
I wish to stand in the Bro Morgannwg / Vale of Glamorgan constituency for the Green Party for people who are looking for radical new ways of tackling the environmental and social justice challenges that we are facing with increasing urgency, not just here in Cymru, but also the UK and beyond.
