Angela Karadog – candidate for Pontypridd
My name is Angela Karadog and I’m a Town Councillor for Cilfynydd on Pontypridd Town Council. I have lived in Pontypridd since 2004. I was a teacher for a few years and did an MA in special educational needs. I now manage a Pontypridd based education research company. My role takes me across Europe with teacher training and youth work projects but my passion has always been to bring the opportunities back here.
I am a Welsh learner and I appreciate how important Welsh language, and access to language is. Over the past 2 years I have been instrumental in setting up and running Cylch Meithrin Cilfynydd a Phont Norton.
Aside from that I volunteer at the charity run Cilfynydd community pantry, allotment and the basement cafe and eco shop.
I believe that many people making small sustainable changes can have a big impact so I instigated Pontypridd Green Week in 2021 and have coordinated it yearly as a volunteer with help from many local individuals, businesses, schools and organisations. I’m also part of the NATURponty team. I know how passionate Ponty people are about our local environment and biodiversity, we shouldn’t have to fight to protect it.
I’m standing as a candidate in the general election because Pontypridd deserves to have a real Green choice to reflect our real green values.
